Sawan 2023 Exact date of arrival of Sawan month, method of worship and significance

It is believed that this wonderful yoga is being formed after about 19 years. Actually in Hindi Vikram Samvat 2080, this year there is an Adhikamas. In such a situation, this year instead of 12 months, there will be a total of 13 months. At the same time, the duration of the month of Sawan is not going to be 30 but about 59 days. This time the month of Sawan is going to be about 2 months. This time the month of Sawan is starting from 4th July 2023 and will end on 31st August 2023. That is, this time the devotees will get about 59 days to worship Lord Shiva. Kavad Yatra has special significance in Sawan. Every year in Sawan, Kavadis go to Shiva temples with Kavad and offer water to Shankar ji. Shravani fair is organized in Baidyanath Dham of Jharkhand in Sawan, where Shiva devotees reach from far and wide with Kavad. Baidyanath Dham is considered one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. In fact, the Vedic calendar calculates on the basis of the solar month and the lunar month. The lunar month is of 354 days while the solar month is of 365 days. There is a difference of about 11 days between these two and every third year this difference is of 33 days, which is called Adhik Maas. That's why this time Sawan will last for two months.

Wear clean clothes after bathing etc. in the morning of Sawan Monday.
Take water in your right hand and say the resolution of Sawan Somvar Vrat.
Offer Ganges water to all the deities.
Perform Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva Shankar while chanting Om Namah Shivay mantra.
Offer Akshat, white flowers, white sandalwood, cannabis, dhatura, cow's milk, incense, panchamrit, supari, belpatra to Lord Bholenath.
Chant Om Namah Shivay Shivay Namah while offering the material and apply sandalwood tilak.
On the day of Monday's fast of Sawan, the story of Monday's fast must be read and at the end Aarti should be performed.
Offer ghee and sugar as prasad to Lord Shiva.

Do not do these things in the month of Sawan
In the scriptures, it is forbidden to do certain things during Sawan. According to the scriptures, one should not sleep during the day in this month. Eggplant is forbidden in food, as it is considered impure. Ketaki flowers should not be offered to Lord Shiva.
